Benchmark ESG® Partners with GLYNT.AI to Automate Carbon Emissions Data Management—From Utility Invoices to ESG Disclosures

CINCINNATI (April 21, 2022)

Benchmark Digital Partners, a leading provider of cloud-based Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) software solutions, has partnered with GLYNT.AI to enable the digital automation of ESG and sustainability data through the use of applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). With this integrated service offering, users of Benchmark’s ESG and sustainability data management solutions can now harness the power of AI/ML-driven automation to measure their resource usage and carbon emissions footprint with greater precision and ensure accurate, timely, and verifiable ESG disclosures.

GLYNT’s technologies automatically read and process utility bills and other energy invoices, feeding the data directly into the Benchmark Sustainability Reporting solution, eliminating the time, resources, and human error commonly associated with manual data inputs. Connection with data sources like GLYNT is enabled through Benchmark’s patent application-pending Data Xchange Portal (DXP), which is being designed to streamline and automate the aggregation of ESG-relevant information from disparate data sources including enterprise IT systems (HR, ERP, etc.), operational solutions, and third-party data providers.

While these automations simplify and reduce the burden on corporate teams, Benchmark’s advanced analytics and reporting technologies provide insights into ESG and sustainability performance, thus strengthening organizational ESG disclosures and satisfying mandatory reporting needs.

With the climate and carbon commitments made by organizations, the burden of data management can be overwhelming,” said Donavan Hornsby, Benchmark Chief Market Strategy Officer. “We are excited about the potential of this innovation from the GLYNT team. Our customers are looking for novel ways to simplify and streamline ESG data management activities.  This partnership promises to relieve the burden on facility and corporate teams and to enable a level of data integrity and validation required by investors and other key stakeholders.”

The Benchmark ESG® and GLYNT partnership comes as mandates for ESG disclosures are on the rise, including the recently proposed U.S. SEC Climate Disclosure Rule.  The rule would mandate U.S. public companies to disclose Scope 1, Scope 2, and potentially Scope 3 GHG emissions based on materiality.

“We’re excited to join the fast-growing Benchmark ESG® ecosystem,” said Martha Amram, CEO of GLYNT.  “New regulations are being stood up in the US and 14 other countries, so the market has expanded to CFOs and finance teams. We look forward to working with Benchmark ESG® customers to navigate these new requirements at the intersection of climate, investors and finance.  GLYNT’s finance-grade data is a key part of the solution for compliance, risk management and value creation.”
