What the GLYNT.AI and Secaro Partnership Means for You
If you’re an automotive supplier, you’ve likely felt the pressure building. OEMs are asking for Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data. Catena-X is becoming the expected platform for sharing it. And doing this manually, across spreadsheets and disconnected systems, is slow, error-prone, and expensive.
GLYNT.AI and Secaro recently announced a partnership to make this easier for North American suppliers, combining GLYNT.AI’s automated PCF data preparation with Secaro’s supplier network. You can read the full announcement in the press release linked below.
Why This Matters Right Now
Leading OEMs, including Ford, BMW, Nissan, and Volkswagen, are already rolling out PCF and Catena-X requirements across their supply chains. If you haven’t started PCF reporting yet, you risk falling behind on procurement requirements from these manufacturers.
There’s also funding available to help offset the cost of getting started. Catena-X and the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) have launched the Data Space Accelerator, a program offering results-based compensation of up to $33,000 (about €30,000) to qualifying small and medium-sized suppliers. Funding is tied to two milestones: onboarding Certificate Management, and implementing a second Catena-X use case, which can include Product Carbon Footprint. Applications are open through the end of 2026.
What Suppliers Should Do Now
- Figure out where your emissions data actually lives. Most suppliers have the underlying activity data (energy use, materials, production volumes) scattered across ERP systems, utility bills, and spreadsheets. That’s normal, and that should be your starting point, not a blocker.
- Understand the difference between estimated and activity-based PCF methods. Activity-based methods (what GLYNT.AI uses) tie your carbon data to your actual financial and operational records, which is what OEMs and Catena-X increasingly expect for audit-ready reporting.
- Check your eligibility for the Data Space Accelerator. The program targets SMEs in the EU and in countries with a Government Procurement Agreement with Germany, which includes the US and Canada. Confirm your specific eligibility and milestone requirements directly through the official program resources before applying.
- Get on Secaro’s network if you aren’t already. Thousands of automotive suppliers are already active there, alongside global brands like Honda, which gives OEMs and suppliers a shared path to activate PCF reporting.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)? A PCF measures the total greenhouse gas emissions generated across a product’s life cycle. Automotive OEMs increasingly require PCF data from suppliers to meet their own emissions reporting and regulatory obligations.
How much funding is available through the Data Space Accelerator? Qualifying suppliers can receive results-based compensation of up to $33,000 (about €30,000), split across two milestones: onboarding Certificate Management and implementing a second Catena-X use case, such as Product Carbon Footprint. Applications are open through the end of 2026.
How is GLYNT.AI’s approach different from other PCF tools? GLYNT.AI uses an activity-based method that ties carbon data to the same records used for financial reporting, aiming for data that’s audit-ready rather than estimated. GLYNT.AI reports 99.5% data accuracy and 9x more data coverage than typical manual approaches.
Is GLYNT.AI Catena-X certified? GLYNT.AI is currently participating in the official Catena-X certification process and is on track to become a certified Catena-X partner.
